2012 Competition Dates!
Hello Competitive Dance Families!
We have our competition dates for the 2012 dance season!
Please mark your calendars NOW!!!
ALL competitive groups will be participating in the following THREE local competitions:
Synergy Dance Competition
The Bell Performing Arts Centre; Surrey, BC
April 17th - 22nd 2012
Peak Invitational Competition
The Abbotsoford Arts Centre
May 5th - 10th 2012
Dance Power Competition
The ACT Theatre; Maple Ridge, BC
May 21st - 28th 2012
For those families who are new to the competition world, please note that we will not have the exact days and times for your child’s routine until 2-4 weeks prior to each event. Please keep all dates available as it is of the utmost importance that EVERY dancer attends EVERY event! For each of your dances you can expect to spend 2-3 hours at the competition. Please be aware that dancers may have to miss school to attend competitions as they do run during the day. Our competitive dancers work very hard all year for these events so please help us in keeping it a fun, uplifting and stress-free experience for your child by staying informed and planning accordingly.
As promised several of our older, intensive groups will be participating in one “Out-of-Town” competition! This year Miss Meghann and a team of our fabulous teachers will be taking our intermediate and Advanced dancers on a studio road trip to Victoria!! Select groups will be participating in Synergy Dance Competition at the University of Victoria! We will be staying right on campus in condo style accommodation with full kitchen facilities (that’s right girls, we will be cooking!).
This will take place Victoria Day long weekend, May 18th - 20th 2012
Participating groups:
- intermediate jazz
- advanced jazz
- intermediate lyrical
- advanced lyrical
- int/adv tap
- int/adv musical theatre
- all solos/duos/trios from within these groups are also welcome to compete
Further information on this trip (cost, fundraising, etc) will be sent home later in the year. Costs to be expected include:
- competition fees
- ferry transport fares
- accommodation
- food
