Technique is the basis of all fundamentals of dance, from holding your body correctly while performing, to executing skills properly in a routine. Strong technique extends across all areas of dance, regardless of the style of your routine. Whether it’s jazz, lyrical, hip hop, or musical theatre, there is always an element of technique that can be improved upon.
By working the muscles through movements and ranges of motion that approximate the demands of your chosen dance form, you directly enrich your performance capabilities. The result is deeper pliés, higher jumps with less effort, tighter turns and improved extension and turnout. You will learn to jump higher, turn faster and most importantly, acquire the proper technique to do so correctly. This class is open to all dancers ages 8+.
