Cecchetti Classes

At Young at Arts, we believe ballet is the foundation of every great dancer.

Cecchetti Ballet develops strength, flexibility, proper body alignment, musicality, coordination, and artistry while building the discipline and technical excellence that support success in every style of dance.

Students learn the internationally recognized Cecchetti syllabus; a progressive program of exercises, theory, and ballet vocabulary that develops strong, confident dancers.

Whether your child dreams of dancing competitively, pursuing professional training, or simply building excellent technique, Cecchetti Ballet provides the foundation for lifelong success.

Young at Arts offers:

  • Beginner, Intermediate & Advanced Cecchetti Ballet

  • Competitive Ballet

  • Pre-Pointe & Pointe

  • Cecchetti Ballet Examinations

Ballet classes may be taken as part of our Intensive Program or as a stand-alone class to strengthen technique.

Why Choose Cecchetti Ballet?

The Cecchetti Method is one of the world's most respected ballet training systems. Rather than simply teaching choreography, it develops dancers through a carefully structured progression of technique, artistry, musicality, and theory.

Students benefit from:

  • Improved posture, alignment, and body awareness

  • Increased strength, flexibility, and coordination

  • Better balance, control, and musicality

  • Strong technical foundations for all dance styles

  • Enhanced confidence, discipline, and focus

  • Development of ballet vocabulary and theory

  • Greater artistry and performance quality

The combination of physical training and mental discipline helps dancers develop skills that extend well beyond the studio.

Cecchetti Exams

Cecchetti Society of Canada Ballet Exams

What are Cecchetti Ballet Exams?

Each year, eligible students have the opportunity to participate in Cecchetti Society of Canada Ballet Examinations, hosted right here at Young at Arts.

The Cecchetti Society of Canada continues the teaching tradition established by Enrico Cecchetti, preserving a high standard of classical ballet education throughout Canada and around the world.

Exams are conducted by certified Master Teachers and Examiners, many of whom have danced professionally and taught at prestigious institutions such as Alberta Ballet and the National Ballet of Canada.

During the examination, dancers are evaluated on:

  • Technical execution

  • Musicality

  • Artistry and performance

  • Ballet theory and vocabulary

  • Knowledge retention

Students who successfully complete an examination receive an official Cecchetti Society of Canada Certificate and detailed examiner's report.

Benefits of Cecchetti Exams

Cecchetti examinations offer much more than a certificate, they provide dancers with meaningful goals and valuable feedback from industry professionals.

Benefits include:

  • Recognition of technical achievement

  • Professional feedback from unbiased examiners

  • Increased confidence and performance experience

  • Motivation to set and achieve personal goals

  • Strong additions to dance resumes and future applications

Many dancers also discover that preparing for an exam deepens their appreciation of ballet while strengthening the discipline and perseverance needed for continued growth.

Who Is Invited to Take an Exam?

Participation in Cecchetti examinations is by teacher invitation.

Students selected for examinations consistently demonstrate:

  • Strong technical ability

  • Prioritized attendance

  • Positive attitude and work ethic

  • Readiness for the demands of the examination process

While examinations are an exciting opportunity, every Cecchetti Ballet student benefits from learning the syllabus. The structured progression develops exceptional technique, confidence, and artistry regardless of whether a dancer participates in an exam that year.
