Josie's dance journey started right here at The Young at Arts when she attended her first Tutu Time class at the age of 2. It was here that Josie fell in love with dancing and the performing arts.

Throughout her time at the studio, Josie took part in many performance opportunities. She joined the intensive program at the age of 6, training and competing in a variety of styles. Josie furthered her training by participating in masterclasses and conventions at the Edge Performing Arts Centre in Hollywood, Disney Performing Arts, and more. Josie is also a graduate of Langley Fine Arts School where she majored in dance and trained in the styles of contemporary and modern. There, she had many opportunities to develop her artistry, both as a dancer and choreographer.

Josie began volunteering as a Teaching Assistant at YAA when she was 11 years old, and knew she wanted to have a career working with kids. When she is not at the studio, Josie furthers her education as a student at Trinity Western University where she studies Elementary Education and minors in Inclusive Education and Sociology. Josie believes in encouraging curiosity and imagination in children as well as modelling compassion and kindness. Josie feels blessed to teach at The Young At Arts and have a job where she can do what she loves surrounded by amazing people. She especially loves watching young dancers explore their artistic side and she is passionate about helping her students succeed.
