Leanne Wickstrom

Instructor

Leanne found her passion for dance right here at the Young at Arts at the age of five when she enrolled in a competitive Tap class. As the years went on, more and more classes were added to her repertoire, and soon after signing up for Musical Theatre, Leanne found her passion. Her bold personality and love for performance pushed her head-first into the world of Broadway and she hasn’t left since.

Throughout high school, Leanne was heavily involved in her Theatre Company both on stage and backstage, all while being committed to her dancing and second home at YAA. Growing up at YAA, Leanne was grateful for the warm and welcoming environment and is excited to continue to spread that feeling now through her own teacher as an instructor at YAA.

After her high school graduation, Leanne’s love for theatre led her to audition for the Acting for Stage and Screen program at Capilano University, where she trained for three years. Though the program is focused on acting, she was also trained in vocal technique, specialty movement, dance, stage combat, directing, theatre history, and many other specialized skills. Leanne is constantly learning and growing as a performer and is excited to share all of her passion and knowledge with the dancers at the Young at Arts. Nothing inspires Leanne as much as watching her students perform!
